School Improvement
Continuous school improvement is an embedded behavior rooted in the school's culture that constantly focuses on the conditions, processes, and practices that improve teaching and learning. Schools use student performance results and analyze data from various interwoven components to develop plans and implement improvement actions to drive education quality and improved student outcomes.

Kingsolver Elementary School Vision (SY 26–27)
Be Safe: We create and maintain a physically, emotionally, and procedurally safe environment where every scholar and adult feels secure, supported, and ready to learn. We follow established systems, protect scholar well-being, and communicate clearly during daily operations and critical moments. We take initiative to address potential safety concerns, anticipate needs, and act proactively to ensure a safe environment at all times.
We are on time to ensure supervision, preparedness, and continuity of care for all scholars.
Be Responsible: We demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and ownership in all that we do. We plan with purpose, execute with fidelity, and follow through on commitments to scholars, colleagues, and families. We communicate effectively, respond promptly, and use data and systems to support high levels of learning. We take initiative as problem solvers and remain solution-focused, serving without waiting to be directed.
We are on time because preparation and consistency drive success for every scholar.
Be Respectful: We cultivate a culture of dignity, trust, and collaboration. We honor each individual’s voice, value diverse perspectives, and engage in solution-oriented communication with scholars, families, and colleagues. We strengthen partnerships and build community through empathy, active listening, and positive interactions. We take initiative to build relationships, address concerns, and contribute positively to our school culture. We are on time because respect includes honoring others’ time and commitments.
At Kingsolver ES, our vision is to operate with excellence, compassion, and consistency—ensuring that every scholar is educated, engaged, and empowered. Through safety, responsibility, and respect—anchored by timeliness and driven by initiative—we strengthen our systems, deepen our partnerships, and uphold our commitment to:
We do this because we believe - Every Scholar, Every Chance, Every Day.
Motto - What “Every Scholar, Every Chance, Every Day” Means at Kingsolver
At Kingsolver Elementary School, this is more than a slogan—it is our daily commitment in action:
Every Scholar means we know our scholars by name, need, and strength. We ensure all scholars—regardless of background, ability, or circumstance—receive the support, challenge, and opportunity they deserve to thrive.
Every Chance means we are intentional and relentless in creating opportunities for success—academically, socially, and emotionally. We do not wait for success; we design systems, instruction, and supports that make success possible for all.
Every Day means consistency matters. We show up prepared, on time, and focused—delivering high-quality instruction, maintaining strong systems, and building meaningful relationships. We maximize every moment because every day is an opportunity to move scholars forward.
At Kingsolver, this commitment is visible in our actions, felt in our culture, and reflected in the growth and success of our scholars.
DoWEA Accreditation
Accreditation is the act of granting credit or recognition (especially with respect to an educational institution that maintains suitable standards). Educational accreditation is a type of quality assurance process under which services and operations of educational institutions or programs are evaluated by an external agency to determine if applicable standards are met. If standards are met, accredited status is granted by the agency.
Cognia is the accreditation agency for all DoWEA schools and the world's largest education community. As the global leader in advancing education excellence through accreditation and school improvement, Cognia brings together more than 100 years of experience and the expertise of three United States-based accreditation agencies - the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA/CASI), Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC), and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS/CASI). Accreditation is pivotal to leveraging education quality and continuous improvement.
Detailed accreditation information is provided on the DoWEA Accreditation page.
Comprehensive Assessment System
In conjunction with the implementation of the College and Career Ready Standards (CCRS), DoWEA is implementing the Comprehensive Assessment System (CAS) that includes all of the assessments that are administered system-wide within DoWEA. These include the PSAT, Advanced Placement, NAEP, and College and Career Ready Standards (CCRS) assessments. All assessments included in the DoWEA Comprehensive Assessment System support student learning, provide information for decision makers concerning instructional programs and services, and inform parents. DoWEA is committed to student achievement and assessments that raise the bar for the students to ensure they are on the path to success.
